With the support of close family at the Taupo RSA, brothers Damien and George Nepata were disappointed after a declined phone call had determined their 15 year struggle.
With a strong family heritage in the Army, the two brothers were prepared to fight for their country but the Govt isn't prepared to fight for them.
This is the second time a select committee has recommended that the brothers get compensation, and the second time the recommendation has been rejected by the Govt.
The Govt has said that the case has been thoroughly examined and that they have received the appropriate entitlements under ACC legislation and they received their full legal entitlement to NZDF benefits.
