New crosses unveiled following Papakura cemetery desecration

As the investigation into the vandalism of gravestones at Papakura Cemetery continues, families gathered for a service to unveil 40 new crosses.

Families have been forced to relive one of the hardest moments of their lives.

While whānau and friends decorate their tiny babies' graves, one woman has been cleaning the cemetery since it was vandalised last week.

The Police investigation is still underway as they search for the man captured on CCTV footage.

National MP of Papakura, Judith Collins is supporting these families all the way, she spoke to everyone about her own baby sister Margaret who died at six days old.

With a final lullaby, these souls shaken in their sleep are left to rest in peace again.
