The opening event of the Northern Region Māori Rugby Tournament has been held at the Helensville Rugby club, attracting players of all age groups to represent their regions in four different grades.
Waikato played North Harbour yesterday in the first of three tournaments to take place over the next three weekends, North Harbour finding the line easily to take the win 56 - 19. Next weekend the second tournament is scheduled to be held at Waitemata Park, with Tainui Waka hold the last tournament Te Rapa Rugby grounds.
