NZ Muay Thai victor heads to World Championships

It's been months and months of hard work as Ash Ahipene trains to perfect her craft before she steps onto the canvas to face some of the world's elite Muay Thai fighters.

Ash comes from a strong family history in Muay Thai and has numerous national titles under her belt. She's been to the world champs four times, earning silver and bronze.

Ash says, “This sport is so hard for example to get your body into shape, and strengthening the mind, but I do it to gain the gold medal.”

There will be over 1000 athletes competing from all parts of the world, which will make getting that gold medal even sweeter.
