New Zealand has offered to host the signing of TPP and is looking to organise an event in Auckland for this purpose in early February.
There has been public opposition to the trade agreement in the past year but a spokesperson from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed with Te Kāea its intentions to host the signing.
They said that each country has a different process in relation to domestic requirements to be able to sign a trade agreement.
For this reason, specific arrangements have yet to be finalised pending confirmation from TPP partners.
