NZ stars support Teina Pora’s fight to clear his name

Kiwi celebrities have rallied together in a music video calling for Teina Pora's rape and murder convictions to be overturned.

The video released under the name "An Artistic Response to the Teina Pora Case", features an array of Shortland Street stars, Mana Party leader Hone Harawira and a string of hip-hop artists.

A collective of independent artists have come together to support Teina Pora. Rapper, Ermehn Loto says it's a cause that hits home.

“I knew Teina Pora before he went in, so I can understand the story from how it began to where it is now”

The main message Ermehn Loto hopes that people get from the video clip is awareness.

“A lot of the youth now don't even know who Teina Pora is, probably weren't born then but with the help of social media and the help of Aotearoa hip-hop it helps push the message out to all the young and to our older generation.”
