NZ Warriors want their own haka

'The Warriors are ready to rumble' is the new catchphrase.

The catchphrase will be seen as a chant of support that both the spectators and players can perform before each game.

However, a veteran Warrior Ritchie Blackmore says there needs to be a reason to do such a chant.

Donna Grant says the chant will differ from the 'Haka Ōpango' composed by Derek Lardelli and performed by the All Blacks.

Last year, the Chiefs learnt and performed a new haka composed by haka exponent Ora Kihi but he says it's entirely up to Donna Grant and co how the team will portray their chant.

The chant will be revealed when the Warriors take on the Roosters at Eden Park in round 2 of the NRL and will be performed by 100 Waka Huia group members.
