Kaiwhare Kara-France, the New Zealand flyweight champion is one of the 16 fighters invited to feature on this season's American reality TV series "The Ultimate Fighter." The 23-year-old of Ngāti Koroki-Kahukura has just returned home from filming in Las Vegas.
“You have to be mentally stable and you got to be self-motivated and you got to know why you are there. I definitely took the experience while it came and I loved every minute of it," says Kara-France.
The Flyweight fighter with a fight record of 12 wins and 5 losses. The show features 16 fighters living together in Las Vegas in two teams fight against each other with no contact with anyone until the show has ended.
"They take your cell phone away, no contact with the outside world and no TV and of course no girls or anything like that, no distractions, so sixteen guys from all around the world and I was the only one from New Zealand."
At the conclusion of the show, the winner is hoping to take on UFC champion Demetrious Johnson. The first episode airs around the world this Thursday.
