Ormsby sentenced for marijuana possession in Bali

Leeza Ormsby has been given a 10-month jail sentence for pleading guilty to marijuana possession while on holiday in Bali.

The villa Ormsby and friends were staying at in February was raided and quantities of MDMA, hashish and a marijuana joint were found, the latter found in Ormsby's handbag.

Her charges were reduced to the joint found in her bag.

The offence carries a sentence of up to 12 years, but her lawyer argued that she was not a drug dealer and not a drug user, for which the court showed mercy.

Leeza was arrested on February 12, just days after the release of Schappelle Corby, who spent nine years in an Indonesian jail after being convicted on drug charges.
