A meeting has been scheduled later this week between Pamapuria Schools board of trustees and its principal Stephen Hovell.
Hovell has been on leave since last month but has indicated he wants to return to his job in the New Year.
Despite his absence he’s still the principal and was in charge during the period in which teacher James Parker sexually abused boys attending the school. James Parker pleaded guilty to 49 charges and has yet to enter a plea to another 23.
Last month, the school’s commissioner, Larry Forbes released a report which was critical of Hovell’s actions stating the response to concerns raised about James Parker’s sleepovers was “inadequate”.
