Peters dishes out more funding to help Pacific

Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters has announced renewed funding for Volunteer Service Abroad- the agency that sends volunteers offshore to make a positive difference in developing countries.

The service will receive a 14 percent increase in funding which will lead to an increase in volunteer assignments- with new programmes in Fiji and Tuvalu and increased volunteers in Samoa and Tonga.

The government has funded VSA, founded by Sir Edmund Hillary, for 56 years.
