Project promotes ‘Swim to Survive’ message

New Zealand Active Post has provided a lifeline to rural communities to help reduce the number of drownings in NZ and promote the 'Swim to Survive' message.  Matakana Island in the Western Bay of Plenty is one of those communities benefiting from a project which provides a portable swimming pool for the community.

The pool will stay with the Matakana Island community for another eight weeks before it moves on to another community. By then, parents should be confident their children will be safe around their natural surrounds come Christmas.
