Raetihi residents still plagued with contaminated water

Raetihi residents are getting on with the job, despite their towns water supply being contaminated.  Water is available in the town from 7am to 7pm.

Seven water tank stations holding 1100 litres are situated around the community.

The Ruapehu District Council has been working closely with Raetihi residents and local iwi. The district's mayor says they are looking at all possibilities to fix the situation.

The community hope to get some answers from the council at tonight's meetings. One option that will be discussed is taking water from another river that was not affected by the spill for Raetihi's water supply.
