Raggamuffin goes off with a bang

By Wepiha Te Kanawa

Raggamuffin had an increase in turnout of almost 50% over the two-day event compared to last year.

Tiki Taane is a first-time performer at Raggamuffin this year.  He says that while he had hoped to perform there in the past, he never had the chance to.

“I've been in the industry for years but my workload meant I always missed out so I'm very lucky.”

The Aotearoa Reggae All Stars brought the crowd to their feet.

Majic Paora says she was humbled to even be on stage with some of NZ's greatest performers.

“It was awesome to play alongside these legends of NZ reggae, so it's been a huge honour for me to sing with them.”

She also had the chance to spend time with reggae royalty, Damian Marley, who Majic says she'll be celebrating alongside.

Aotearoa All Stars' remake of the Herbs classic, 'Sensitive to a Smile', is still available for purchase on iTunes, Google Play or in stores nationwide.
