Respect seen on and off field at SAM v NZL match

It was a tear-jerker, but Manu Samoa were stoic in the face of their enemy.  Not surprisingly, it was the All Blacks who drew first blood through Dan Carter's boot.

Perhaps it was because of game nerves from both sides, the first half was full of penalties.  By half-time, it was still a tryless game with the visitors leading 12-3.

Shortly after the half-time performances had ended, George Moala gave his own performance on the field.

As predicted, the Samoans would use their size and their muscle up front to create opportunities for the backs.

But under the Apia sunshine, it was the All Blacks who felled Manu Samoa, 25-16.

Through the fatigue, Manu Samoa were quick to lay the next challenge.

The respect between the teams was obvious on and off the field.
