Rheumatic Fever patients' racism claim

A report behind studying increases in rheumatic fever in Māori and Pacific people has uncovered claims of racism and 'rough handling' of patients suffering from the disease.

People in the study complained of problems in the health system including being subject to name-calling.

Some people even said they preferred to inject themselves with medication rather than seeing a health professional.
