Rotorua Boys 1st XV need win this weekend

The Rotorua Boys High Schools 1st XV need to win tomorrow in order to keep their rugby season alive and to secure a position in the National 1st XV top schools, tomorrow they will play hosts to New Plymouth Boys High School who won against Wesley Boys College last week keeping their season alive.

So far, Rotorua Boys have had an impressive run, last week winning against the national champions Hamilton Boys High School in Hamilton.  It’s been ten years since Rotorua has done that.

Ngarimu Simpkins, Rotorua Boys High School Head Rugby Development Coach says that tomorrow’s game is going to be tough, New Plymouth are a strong side but so far his team has achieved all their goals so far tomorrow will be the biggest test.

Isaac Te Aute, captain will be running at full back tomorrow with Ngarohi McGarvey-Black on the wing.

Rotorua and New Plymouth Boys High School will be playing for the right to represent the Chiefs area in making the top four National 1st VX.  Other areas will see St Kentigern College take on Whangarei Boys’ High School for the Blues region.  Scots College and St Patrick’s College are set for the Hurricanes region final and for the South Island Otago Boys’ High School will be taking on St Bede’s College.

In the National 1st XV co-ed competition Western Heights High School are up against Cambridge High School for the Chiefs region.

Aorere College takes on Kerikeri High School for the Blues region, Feilding High School are hoping to win against Bishop Viard College in the Hurricanes region and in South Island St Andrew’s College take on South Otago High School.
