Rugby world shaken over loss of another legend

The rugby world is shocked again with another loss of a legend.

Today it has been confirmed that Jonah Lomu has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 40.

Earlier this year, former All Black Jerry Collins and his partner were killed in a tragic car accident in France.

A special memorial service held in Porirua for Collins was attended by his nearest and dearest family, friends, fans and wider community.

As rugby stars descended upon Porirua, it was a testament to the character of JC.

In an emotional interview with Jonah Lomu at this service, Lomu spoke fondly of his friend who he says was a “great man”.

When asked if he had any special stories to tell, Lomu remarked that there were just too many and went on to say, “Those stories, we’ll keep those to ourselves because they were special to us.”

But Lomu did recall one heart warming moment he shared with Collins.

"Haere atu rā kōrua ki te huinga o te kahurangi ki tua o pae."
