Sharples resigns as Māori Party co-leader

Today Dr Pita Sharples confirmed his decision to resign from his position as co-leader of the Māori Party.

A special meeting was held last night in his electorate at Hoani Waititi Marae to discuss the issue.

The final outcome was for him to step down from his leadership position and not to contest next year's general election.
