Sharples’ talks business in Malaysia

Prime Minister John Key has recently signed deals with giant trade partners China to boost trading opportunities for Aotearoa, and today the Minister of Māori Affairs Pita Sharples departed to Malaysia with the hope of boosting business opportunities for Māori.

30 Māori businesses from different areas of Aotearoa are eyeing up opportunities to branch their services and product offshore.

NZ Māori Tourism, Kahungunu Assets Holding Company and Citywalksz Tours are among the delegates.

While the trade delegation is in Malaysia, some businesses will sign contracts with Malaysian companies.

The visit is also seen as an opportunity to strengthen the NZ-Malaysian partnership that stems back generations.

The trade delegation is to increase relationships in South East Asia.
