Shooting at Harley Davidson store, Mt Wellington

A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition following a shooting incident, believed to be at the Harley Davidson complex in Mt Wellington.

Counties-Manukau Detective Inspector Tofilau Faa Vaaelua confirms that Police were called before 2pm today to a report of a person being shot at a commercial address.

He says Police quickly responded to the incident and put cordons in place.

Initial enquiries suggest an offender has fled the area immediately after the incident.

Police say the incident captured on CCTV, which they have seized.

The victim has been taken to Auckland Hospital and is undergoing surgery.

Police are also armed at the scene as a precautionary measure.

A planned family day event celebrating the 5th Anniversary of Auckland Harley Davidson has now been cancelled.

The facebook event set up by Auckland Harley-Davidson had 231 people going and 1.8K interested in the event.

The organisers say "Sorry due to things beyond our control we are having to cancel tomorrow's Family Day. We hope to reschedule in the spring."

Te Ao has approached the organisers for comment.
