Six60 and Shaggy to headline Raggamuffin 2017

2017 will mark the tenth anniversary of Aotearoa's premier reggae concert, Raggamuffin. To celebrate the milestone, an all-reggae lineup has been announced including Shaggy, The Wailers feat. Family Man, Ky-Mani Marley and Six60.

Raggamuffin is the largest reggae festival in the Southern Hemisphere. In past years, urban and hip-hop acts have been included, but next year, it will return to its reggae roots.

Headlining what is being called Raggamuffin X, is Six60 and Shaggy. Six60 will return to New Zealand over the summer for a series of concerts.

Shaggy has wowed the crowd at the annual festival in recent years. Known for his Grammy Award winning album 'Boombastic' featuring songs such as It Wasn't Me and Angel, Shaggy is a multi-platinum selling pop reggae artist and a crowd favourite.

A Raggamuffin festival wouldn't be complete without members of the Marley family. Ky-Mani Marley with Gentleman will be playing, as well as The Wailers featuring Family Man.

Jamaican-born singer Etana has established herself as one of the most powerful and distinctive female voices in reggae. She returns to New Zealand next year.

Alongside Six60, New Zealand bands highlighted at Raggamuffin X include crowd pleasers The Black Seeds and Kiwi reggae legends Herbs. Salmonella Dub, House of Shem, Lomez Brown, Jamaica's Conkarah, and Hawaii's Kiwini and Jah Maoli complete the full line-up for the main stage.

Pre-sale tickets are now available and on General Public sale from Tuesday 25 October. VVIP, VIP and GA tickets are available and Raggamuffin X is R18. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster with a lay-by option available from Tuesday 25 October.

Raggamuffin X will take place at The Trusts Arena in Auckland on Saturday 18 February 2017.
