Skydiving passengers escape plane crash at Lake Taupō unscathed

Police have reported the passengers on board the plane that crashed into Lake Taupō just after noon today are all safe and sound.

They have also confirmed that the plane was a skydiving plane from Skydive Taupo.

There were 13 people on board; six crew members, six passengers and the pilot, who all bailed when the plane encountered an emergency situation.

All landed safely on shore and have been checked over by ambulance staff.
