Grant wins gold at Pan Pacific BJJ Championship

Jiu Jitsu fighter Anaru Grant recently returned home from Melbourne, competing at the Pan Pacific Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championship.  The competition attracting hundreds of people from around the world. 

Anaru was in two categories, and came away with two gold medals.

He's only been home a day but Anaru Grant was back at the gym after competing in the Pan Pacific Championships in Melbourne. 

His dedication to the sport is evident. The reason why he won two gold medals at the world renowned event.

The Tū Kaha member is currently undefeated this year and has his purple belt. He competed in the Gi and No Gi and had many fights which he won, but says it wasn't easy. 

What makes the celebration even better is that his younger brother Hiwaroa came away with a silver medal in the same competition.  This was his first competition in this sport.

He wasn't the only person in Tū Kaha that won a medal. Out of nine competitors, eight won medals, 4 won gold.

Anaru's next competition is next month.
