Stellar year for Nehe Milner-Skudder

2014 has been a stellar year for many sports people and one in particular is Nehe Milner-Skudder.

Since a young age, Nehe has always dreamt of playing professional rugby and of course to wear the black jersey.  This year those dreams were realised.

According to Nehe, “A highlight was just getting out on the field and staying injury free and string a few games together.”

Following Nehe's brillant performance for the Turbos this season, he not only was selected for the Māori All Blacks Tour to Japan but he managed to score in both test matches against Japan.

He is also a finalist for ITM player of the year at the Steinlager Rugby Awards tomorrow night.

“To be nominated in the same category as Seta and Shane Christie who have had outstanding seasons I was pretty blown away to have been nominated,” says Nehe.

After an extended break due to the Maori All Blacks Tour, Nehe is back with the Hurricanes and he’s gearing up for his first season as a contracted Super 15 player.

Tomorrow night the rugby star puts on his number ones for the Steinlager Rugby Awards.

"Hopefully scrub up somewhat decent should be good, looking forward to it", says Nehe.

If this year is a sign of what’s to come for Nehe, the Māori rugby star defiantly has a brighter future ahead.
