Storm relocates Polyfest performances

The eye of tropical cyclone Lusi stormed through the North, leaving a devastating sight in its tracks.

In Paihia, Emergency Services were out helping those living seaside today.

Power was cut  to 2000 homes in Northland, after 120km winds tore up power lines at Whangarei Heads last night.

In Auckland this morning, although final day of the pacific stages of the ASB Polyfest were postponed, the Māori stage still went ahead at the Waitakere Trust Stadium.

But the doors weren't open to all who hoped to watch their favourite groups with the event becoming over packed.

Kings College showed a strong performance on stage for their first time in the premiere division of the Polyfest.

Whether rain or shine, the organisers of this year's event, the Māori unit of Western Springs High School said it was essential that the event run on schedule.
