Suicide data reveals figures for Māori receiving mental health care

A Ministry of Health report on suicide data reveals just under half of Māori were receiving mental health care.

The report, Suicide data related to mental health service users, provides figures on the number of people who died of suicide in 2016 who had been mental health service users.

Key findings show that of the 141 Māori who died of suicide that year about half (47%) had been mental health service users.
