Three Taranaki schools will combine to take on Aotea’s top secondary school kapa haka teams at the Aotea regional competitions. The Aotea regional's will be held this Friday 30 June, a day after the regional Ngā Manu Kōrero speech competitions.

The 42nd Auckland secondary schools ASB Polyfest has got underway in Manukau City. The southern hemisphere's largest cultural competition began with a traditional welcome ceremony of the schools and trophies, including three new carved taonga to commemorate one of the festival's stalwarts' the late George Hori Pomana.

NZ Secondary School Touch Highlights
48 teams competed at the National Secondary School competition at Bruce Pullman Park in Papakura on the weekend. Across three grades 16 teams from the far South through to Whangarei Boys in the North participated. Hamilton Boys high school took out the boy’s grade, after a hard fought battle with Rotorua Boys High school 8 tries to 7. In the mixed grade Whanganui came out on top with a convincing win over Paeroa College.

Whanganui High School hold onto touch national title
Whanganui High School have clinched the mixed grade title again at this year's Secondary School Touch National Championships held over the weekend in Auckland. Whanganui gave an outstanding performance with a four-point win over Paeroa College.

Hamilton Girls' High School wins NZ Touch tournament
48 high schools from around country took part in the New Zealand secondary school touch nationals held in Papakura over the weekend. Hamilton Girls' High School and first-time finalist Columba College from Dunedin went head to head in the girl's finals.
