Tainui Regional Kapa Haka Competition - Tamarau-a Hine, Hinerau-a-Tama

This prestigous group hails from Mōtiti Marae, and all it's members abide by the following statement, “He Kura Takapuni, He Kawau Māro”, this is the 6th time  Tamarau-a-Hine, Hinerau-a-Tama have taken to the stage at the Tainui Waka Kapa Haka Regional competitions.

In 2007 this group stood to represent Tainui Waka on the national Te Matatini stage, affectionately known as 'Tamarau', the group combines the whānau from all areas connecting to Te Nehenehenui Marae.

While the overall goal remains to secure a spot representing Tainui in Te Matatini at Christchurch next year, overall all members of the group are just glad and proud to be included in the Regional competition.

Leading the group this year is Doug Ruki (Maniapoto, Raukawa) and Charmaine Turner (Maniapoto, Tūwharetoa).
