Talo brothers step closer to representing NZ despite residing in Oz

Two Māori brothers shifted to Australia when they were very young, but they still maintain a connection to NZ.

Brothers Jamal Talo (18) and Latrell Talo (17) of Ngāti Porou and Samoa descent who were invited to train with the Breakers Academy.

Currently based in Melbourne and training at the Andrew Bogut Academy, these boys made the trek to their country of birth for three weeks to expose their talents.

That dream could well become a reality as Jamal has just finished tryouts for the NZ U20 team, and Latrell also has an upcoming trial.

However, overseas colleges are also knocking on their door, and scholarships to America could also be on the cards.

With all these options at their fore, the world really is their oyster.
