Tāmaki Makaurau Kapa Haka Regionals 2016- Te Toka Tū Manawa

Te Toka Tū Manawa were runners-up in the Raumati section at the last Tāmaki Makaurau Senior Kapa Haka regionals but this year the team hope to break through to the Koanga section and secure a qualifying position at next year’s Te Matatini in Hawke’s Bay.

Based in South-Auckland and established in 2011 this group affiliates to Te Pou Herenga Waka, Te Pour Herenga Tangata.

The group is led by  Hammond Matua and Carlene Matua, they duo also tutor the group alongside Charles Matua.

At previous regional competitions the team are remembered for their silky notes and today they’ve chosen to share their Haka titled 'Te Kōhuru Tōku Whānau Māori' composed by the Matua whānau.
