Te Tāheke is a newly-established rōpū which was formed in only March this year, in memory of the Late Charlie Tewe Clark, who's dream it was to see his whānau from Ngāti Hinerangi, Ngāti Hinekiri perform at the Te Arawa Kapa Haka Regional event.
Te Tāheke's drive is to perform as a whānau, as a rōpū to the best of their ability in honour of 'Charlie Coo', and today their performance would have surely made him proud.
Through mahi kapa haka and wānanga held on their marae, they have fostered whakawhanaungatanga throughout their generations, all the while upholding customs and protocols unique to their iwi.
Here is their waiata ā-ringa.
