Te Manu Ahi students take centre stage

It is the fusion of classical live music and contemporary dance, Te Manu Ahi: The Firebird took flight today.

The Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra and Atamira Dance Company have combined their talent for the project, with the emphasis on giving young gifted children the opportunity to take the stage along with some of the country's best.

Students have come together from six Auckland schools ranging from primary through to tertiary to showcase their talent.

Choreographer, Moss Patterson has dedicated much of his time for the last three months rehearsing with the selected students in preparation for their grand performance.

There is no doubt that judging by the thrilling show, the young rising performers are incredibly happy to be exposed to such a great experience.
