The Ngāti Toa Rangatira exhibition launched with the ascent of local iwi authority members to Te Papa, to see their stories and treasures on display to the Nation.

According to Taku Pārai, “It's been a significant year for us, we signed our Deed of Settlement and now we're here telling our stories. I salute my tribe, Ngāti Toa Rangatira, as we celebrate this occasion.”
