'Te Pou Matakana' new Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency

The journey continues for Whānau Ora in the North Island, as the new commissioning agency "Te Pou Matakana" is launched to work alongside whānau and Whānau Ora Providers to achieve the outcomes for the kaupapa to succeed.

According to Wiremu Kaua, “Te Pou Matakana now have the power to administer the Whānau Ora funding and resources which were previously run by Te Puni Kokiri.”

The new Board of Te Pou Matakana consists of Tania Rangiheuea, Suzanne Snively, Robin Hapi and Pahia Turia, the chair is Merepeka Raukawa-Tait.

Merepeka Raukawa-Tait states, “The aim overall is for our whānau to be strong, self-sufficient, self-managing and taking control of their own lives.”

The Whānau Ora Conference ends tomorrow, with the ultimate goal for all, "Supporting Successful whānau, in their journey to becoming strong and resilient."
