Te Puea Marae to hold special karakia for King Tuheitia

Messages of support continue to flow for the Māori King and his family following a candid interview on Te Kāea with his private secretary Te Rangihiroa Whakaruru regarding King Tuheitia’s health.

King Tuheitia will undergo a transplant operation tomorrow at Auckland Hospital and will receive a kidney from his 21 year old son, Korotangi.

South Auckland’s Te Puea marae kuia, Te Kaanga Skipper says, “Our hearts and thoughts are focused on just one thing at this time, for a successful outcome of tomorrow’s operations.”

A special karakia service will take place at Te Puea marae tomorrow evening at 7pm for King Tuheitia and his son Korotangi.

Skipper says, “Te Kahui Wairua will facilitate tomorrow’s prayer service, as requested by them.”

Te Kahui Wairua is made up of a group of Māori inter-denominational faith leaders.

It was established by King Tuhetia in 2014, to ensure ecumenical representation in all Kiingitanga work.

Mānia Clarke will bring more on this tonight at Te Kāea on 5.30pm.
