Te Rūnanganui o Ngāti Porou are considering setting up checkpoints closer to Tūranganui a Kiwa in response to the confirmed COVID-19 case.
The call comes as an effort is being made to keep tourists, who are looking to self-isolate in their iwi boundaries, from flouting the lock-down guidelines.
