By Tamati Tiananga

Team Nesbitt is a group of female fighters who are making waves in combat sports.

The team of four consists of mum, Fiona Nesbitt, and her three daughters, Ashley, Emma and Megan.

The NZ Grapplers competition was held on the weekend and attracted hundreds of participants, including Ngāpuhi’s very own Team Nesbitt.

World champion Ashley is 8-years-old and won gold.  She's also the Waikato kyokushin karate champ and national kyokushin karate champ for 2014.

Emma is 9 years old and won gold.  It was Emma's first medal placing.

Megan is 13 years old and won silver on the weekend.  She's also this year's No Gi Champion.

Team Nesbitt would like to thank Oliver MMA for their on-going support.
