It has been confirmed that the case is not related to the second case that was announced yesterday.

The ministry says that the latest case came through with a positive result on Wednesday evening, 4 March 2020.

An Auckland man in his 40s is in self-isolation. Members of his family were also ill and are in isolation with him.

None of them are in need of hospital care.

It is suspected that the latest incident is a case of family transmission where the man's family member had recently returned from Iran.

The flight on which two of his family members took is:

Qatar QR0920 Doha to Auckland, departed 22 February, arrived Auckland 23 February.
