Thompson recalled for Panthers clash

This evening Bodene Thompson was named in the Warriors starting line-up for the sides 10th round NRL match against the Penrith Panthers at AMI Stadium in Christchurch on Saturday.

Warriors head coach, Andrew McFadden says, "All six have been reintegrated into the squad as we now focus fully on moving forward to prepare for what is a massive game for us against Penrith in Christchurch."

Thompson is the only player of the six reprimanded to return to the run-on side in the no. 11 jumper after being stood down from first grade for breaking team protocol.

The durable player was one of the six Warriors punished for breaching team standards have been recalled to the side with veteran prop Ben Matulino. The second-rower is arguably one of a few in-form forwards to impress all season before getting into trouble.

McFadden added, “Ben and Bodene, along with the four other players, have served their punishment for breaching team standards.”

Thompson and Matulino, along with Manu Vatuvei, Konrad Hurrell, Sam Lisone and Albert Vete, were stood down from the 26-10 victory over the Dragons two weeks ago and barred from playing in the representative round after a night out following last month's embarrassing 42-0 defeat to Melbourne Storm on Anzac Day.

Five of the players had reportedly admitted to mixing prescription pills with energy drinks, although Hurrell denied taking the pills.
