Three-week trial for Takanini Ezy Cash store murders to take place in new year

Next year in May will be the start of the three-week trial of Zarn Tarapata at Auckland High Court.

Tarapata has been accused of murdering Takanini Ezy Cash store owner Paul Matthews and employee Paul Fanning back in July.

Today in court, he was found fit to stand trial and enter a plea.

His lawyer Edith Te Whata told the High Court at Auckland today that another psychiatric report would be sought assessing whether Tarapata could defend the charge on the basis of insanity.
