TPPA Walk Away rally to be held outside Parliament

A rally will be held outside Parliament today carrying with it the message #TPPAWalkAway.

A number of Politicians are expected to speak at the rally which will include NZ First MP Fletcher Tabuteau, Labour MP David Parker, Green MP Dr Russel Norman and a representative from the Māori Party.

According to It's Our Future Spokesperson, Edward Miller, a petition of New Zealanders opposed to the TPPA will also be presented.

"New Zealanders have been telling their elected leaders for years that they don't like secret deals that trade away their sovereignty, now we are heading to parliament on a sitting day to make sure that message is understood."

He says, "With growing opposition both here and overseas, a breakdown in international talks and an increasingly tight timetable for completion, the chances of a good deal are diminishing."

Yesterday, a group demanded the release of the full text of the TPPA details by the 31st of August and took their demonstration to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Auckland.
