Tū Wahine Trust calls for more funding

A Māori sexual abuse support group, Tū Wahine from Te Atatū in West Auckland, put forward their case to the Social Services Committee for more funding in order for them to carry out their services to victims of sexual crimes.

It’s clear the Leader of the group wants the Social Services Committee to know exactly who they are and what they do.

According to Stella Gukibau, “I am the leader of Tū Wahine Trust in Waitākere and we deal with sexual abuse cases.”

The Social Services Committee will hear submissions, and then decide what resources and how much funding will be given in each case. A decision from the committee is expected within the next few months.
