University students to rally against ever-increasing fees

Students from the University of Auckland will rally against the ever-increasing fees they are being faced with. In the past ten years, fees at the University have gone up 50.82% or by over $2,400 per student per year.

This is making it extremely hard for nearly half of full time students who are already struggling to pay rent. Most are now pushing aside the desire to become home owners.

Student debt will reach a total of $15 billion this coming February, and the Auckland City Council look to add to that this week.

Students are fed up with what's being dubbed the 'debt sentence', and will gather outside The Quad at 1pm today.
