Waihoroi Shortland has been appointed to the board of Māori Television filling the vacancy left after the recent resignation of Tahu Potiki.

A media release from Te Putahi Paoho outlines the industry experience Mr Shortland has as a programme maker, editor, producer and director.

Te Putahi Paoho says, “Waihoroi is a native speaker. His expertise in te reo me ōna tikanga, combined with his depth of knowledge in the industry and his understanding of and excitement about the digital environment and opportunities for transforming the Māori Television Service into a multimedia organisation with responsibility to the sustainability of te reo Māori makes him well suited to the governance team of MTS.”
