The youth of Wairoa are making a stand and coming together to generate positivity in their town. For the first time the small riverside town is hosting the national Kaupapa Rangatahi Youth Conference, a conference set to motivate and encourage leadership amongst its youth.
With a population of just over 8000 people, Wairoa is usually in the headlines for all the wrong reasons and with some of the worst socio-economic stats in the country, these youth are working towards turning that around.
The three-day conference will see the youth taking part in many positive workshops, leadership development and listening to inspirational leaders.
