Te Pao a Tahu took to the stage for the first time this year and managed to win the third spot overall in the Waitaha Senior Kapa Haka Regionals, this will see the group advance to Te Matatini as one of the 3 groups representing their rohe.
Te Pao a Tahu originated out of a strong desire to strengthen the Ngāi Tahu presence and mana in Kapa Haka at a regional and national level.
The passion of the group and it's tutors was clearly reflected in the performance this year.
Te Pao a Tahu is tutored by Corban Te Aika, Henare Te Aika-Puanaki , Ana Buchanan and Hana Mereraiha.
Corban and Ana also hold vital roles for the group as Manukura Tāne and Manukura Wāhine.
