Videographer and photographer Ben Marr is famous for always capturing the best shot.
The 29-year-old from Whakatāne has been sharing his work on social media. In his latest venture Marr has bought a state-of-the-art drone to capture his hometown from above and takes us on a guided tour.
Whakatāne is New Zealand’s sunniest town, according to NIWA data. The sunny weather in his shots bolsters Whakatāne’s reputation for spectacular weather.
Not only does he film his hometown, Ben Marr knows his local history.
“This is the area where the Mataatua waka landed, near the river mouth of Whakatāne.”
He says for locals fishing comes in at the top of to-do lists with sport in second place.
