Whangarei Partnership School opens

A pre-dawn ceremonial opening of the newly renovated building to house Whangarei's new charter school.
The second charter school to open in the region this week has been given the ancient name of "Te Kāpehu Whetū".
The school was launched on the back of the Leadership Academy of A Company that was created to nurture young men to become our future Māori leaders and to seek higher learning.

Today, they were joined by their sister students.
Dr Nathan Matthews says, "'It's a special school where our students will be provided with tools from both the Māori and English worlds that will enable them to perform on the marae and in the modern world."
