Will the NZ Māori Council survive?

Questions have arisen around the survival of the Māori Council and its future effectiveness, due to a review of the law it was established under.

It was established under the Māori Community Development Act 1962, and since then it has campaigned on such issues as the Māori language, fishing quota, forestry, and more recently, water rights.
